1. About these terms
These terms govern every booking made with Roam Rapture Limited (“we”, “us”), a tour operator registered in Kampala, Uganda. By submitting an enquiry, paying a deposit, or using roamrapture.co.ug, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.
2. Booking and confirmation
A booking is confirmed only once we issue a written confirmation and the deposit has cleared in our account. Until then, prices, availability, and itineraries are indicative and may change.
You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. When booking on behalf of a group, you confirm that every traveller has agreed to these terms.
3. Payment
- A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is due at the time of booking.
- The remaining balance is due at least 45 days before your departure date.
- For bookings made within 45 days of departure, the full amount is payable immediately.
- Gorilla and chimpanzee permits, where applicable, are payable in full at the time of booking and are strictly non-refundable.
All prices are quoted in US dollars unless otherwise stated. Payment can be made by bank transfer, mobile money, or card via our authorised payment partners.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Full details are in our Refund Policy. In summary, the closer to the departure date a cancellation falls, the larger the proportion of the trip cost that becomes non-refundable. Permits, domestic flights, and any pre-paid third-party services are non-refundable from the moment they are issued.
5. Changes to your booking
We will do our best to accommodate changes after confirmation. Date changes more than 60 days before departure are usually possible at no extra cost, subject to availability. Inside 60 days we may have to pass on any difference in supplier costs.
6. Changes we may need to make
Wildlife sightings, weather, security advisories, and supplier availability can all force last-minute itinerary changes. Where this happens we will offer the closest equivalent experience at no additional cost. We are not liable for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including natural disasters, civil unrest, epidemics, or government action.
7. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of every booking. Your policy must cover medical evacuation, hospital costs, and trip cancellation. We will ask for the policy number and insurer's name before departure.
8. Passports, visas and health
You are responsible for ensuring you have a valid passport, the correct visas, and any vaccinations required for the countries on your itinerary (yellow fever is mandatory across East Africa). We will share guidance during planning, but the final responsibility rests with you.
9. Behaviour and safety
We reserve the right to remove a traveller from any trip — at their own cost and without refund — if their behaviour endangers other guests, our staff, local communities, or wildlife. Park rules, guide instructions, and minimum-distance rules around gorillas, chimpanzees, and other wildlife must be followed at all times.
10. Liability
Roam Rapture Limited acts as a coordinator between you and independent suppliers (lodges, airlines, park authorities). We select suppliers carefully but cannot be held liable for the acts or omissions of those suppliers. Our maximum liability for any single booking is limited to the total amount you paid us for that trip.
11. Photography and content
From time to time we may ask permission to use photographs you share with us in marketing material. We will always ask first, and you can decline without affecting your booking.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute we cannot resolve through good-faith negotiation will be referred to the courts of Kampala.
